Casio EX s600...prob one of the best most complete cameras i have ever used. Bought the ex s500 first, then upgraded to the 600...once that one was stolen, i bought it again.... hope this helped.

In my opinion it would depend on how you plan on using the camera...do you want a SLR or point & shoot?

I personally prefer point & shoot...I love my nikon Cool Pix 4200

If you looking for SLR my Dad is always raving about his Canon EOS Rebel

My BF was a photographer in the Navy, so he's WAY more "in" to photography than I am. He's got a Nikkon something-or-other and really likes it. However, it is a bit much to carry around, so he's looking for something a bit easier to carry around.

I'm more of a "point and shoot" gal. Got a Fuji FinePix something-or-other. It's probably 3 years old so it's obsolete already It takes good pics for me.

Like others posted ahead of me... it's more about what you want it for....

I use a Kodak V603. It's just a little point & shoot camera. It's small and takes good pictures. I'd love a Canon Rebel XTi though.

Fuji finepix S7000, its a pro-sumer type camera. 4 years old and still love it. We have tried to get a smaller camera that is easier to travel with, never satisfied them, this one takes such great pictures (so does my wife!), that is hard to find a better one that doesn't cost a ton.

    Toshiba digital for general stuff
but my two faves are the Nikon F6 and the Pentax K1000, both 35mm SLR's. I've had the Pentax since high school (many moons ago) and it still performs well.
