Your cats are so cute!! Especially Shylo, he looks like he was a ham.

How did you train your cats not to walk on the hard wood floors? Lol that's awesome

    Posted via CB10
Thanks. Shylo ruled the roost. Definitely a ham. Loved to pop out of closed boxes.

But it was the dog that was trained not to go onto the hardwood. Lol. I can't train the cats to even stay off the table. Roflol.

Hahaha! Sorry, just noticed that is a dog. All the others were cats so I guess I assumed that was also a cat. Lol please apologize to the dog for me.

So this afternoon it finally hit 70, decided to do a little pruning and tree trimming. Millie decided she was going to help. When I would bend the branch to cut it, she'd grab it in her mouth and as soon as it was cut, run off with it. I'm not sure who had more fun, her, or me watching her do it. Wish I had some video

Haha! Too funny. I want a German shepherd so bad. People say they can be dangerous but I think it's all in how you treat them.

So true. I've seen Rottweilers that are the same way. Our friends had one that they raised properly, and she would let our 6month old crawl all over her.

Had a white German Shepherd named Quasar when I was little. He was easygoing as long as no one threatened me or another family member.

It also has a lot to do with breeding.

Studies have shown that canids can completely change based on breeding selection. A Siberian study turned wild silver foxes into household pets through selectively breeding the most docile foxes together, no training at all.

I selected my golden's breeder after studying her line and the dogs she produced. There were many dogs from her line who were doing animal assisted therapy. She breeds for temperament first, health, then conformation.

Max has the perfect golden retriever temperament, as a result of very careful breeding.

I always wanted a black GSD. I ended up with a black and tan.

    Oh yeah.....it's huge.

You can see it very well with the pitties now. Used to be rotties and dobies.

Pitties are family dogs, but they are now the fashionable dog for gang members and the dog fighting underground. They breed pit winners to pit winners, and what they're doing without realizing is breeding for aggression. Pitties are terriers, and terriers by nature have that spunky personality. Yorkies, Cairns, Jack Russels.....they all are supposed to be tough minded, stand your ground personalities; they have to be, they were bred to hunt and kill vermin. But people have turned that spunky personality to aggression. You breed aggression to aggression and you end up with a vicious dog. It's the breeders who have caused this to happen. So many pitties in rescue can only be adopted to families with no children or no other animals because of what these breeders have done. In the UK you have the Staffordshire terrier, which is a perfect example of what a pittie is, really. A tough, agile, athletic dog devoted to family and somewhat aloof to animals who are not part of the family. Some are dangerous around animals like pet mice or rats because they are simply terriers, earth dogs, hunters.

The neighbors dog is part pit and so far, plays rough with Baron but he plays rough back. Sometimes they sound like they are going to kill each other lol. But she is a nice dog and I trust her. Her brother on the other hand I never trusted as he was different and brought up by someone else. They ended up with him cause his owner moved and couldn't take him. He ended up going across the street and bit a girl.

He is gone now after that.
