Update on Bronx and his brother:
So it seems the person who gave us the puppies (one for us and one for my mother in law), never vaccinated them. They are about 6 weeks old. The first few days they were full of life. On the day we took Bronx’s brother to the in laws, he passed away. Now Bronx is also dying so we are just letting him be and keeping him relaxed. It was heartbreaking for my wife and son to have to bury a little innocent dog that gave them so much joy this week.

I'm so sorry to hear about poor little Bronx. I hope he will not suffer badly.

Thanks, he’s been resting all day. Nothing like the videos my wife sent the first few days she had him. Playful and biting her toes and following her all over the house.

So heart wrenching to see my son spend what will probably be the last night with his puppy. He can't even wag his tail nor jump on my son like he was just a day ago. He stumbles and falls as he tries to walk. I put him back in his bed.

Update on Bronx: kinda of a “happy bittersweet” ending to this story:
Around 2am when we were all huddled around him crying our butts off, we decided to take him to the vet to “put him out of his miseries”. He was barely moving, quickly dehydrating, and was lethargic. Once we took him we explained what had happened to his brother 24 hours prior. Adding that when we explained what had happened to “someone at pet smart ” they said the symptoms sounded like Parva.
So when they asked at the vet if it was confirmed Parva we said “no”. They decided to do a quick 10 minute test on him and the test came back as negative!! So what killed his brother? Advanced stage of some parasite? Who knows....so the vet gave us two options, get the highly priced treatment they had put together, or surrender the puppy to them, they would provide all medical necessities needed, then put him up for adoption. MY options were to go ahead with treatment, be relived that it wasn’t PARVA and play doctor and get over the counter stuff to try to get him cured, or give him back to the owner where you m sure he would’ve been neglected. So we chose surrender. Although he didn’t have PARVA I was worried he had a short time to live. We signed the papers, said our goodbyes, and went back home with a clear conscience.
Sorry for “letting it out” on this thread
