Took this at the bar the other night. Local band, can't remember their name.

They were really awesome BTW, couple a good ol' boys playing the blues.

    Hi Guys.
I was at the Gillette Stadium "Patriot Place" complex due to that new Scorsese flick "Shutter Island" being out... (more on that in a sec), and found a sign next to one of the urinals in the Mens room that had me chuckling.

Maybe because my brain reverts back to the mentality of a 12 year old when I drink.
    Yes, that's my beer.
Anyhoo - Juvenile, but still kinda wondering what prompted the necessity of hanging a sign in the first place.
*photos taken with BlackBerry Curve 8330. old school am I.

Ok ok - so as I was saying, went to the Patriot Place this last weekend because Shutter Island was opening... one of my good Bro's who I shall call "The Big Hump" went to a casting call last year for it, and got picked to be one of the extras in the film.
Nothing wowwiee, couple shots of him here and there they used- but it was nice they hooked The Big Hump up with tickets for his friends, a show and luxury box seating for the movie.

I have to say, it was a decent film - maybe not one I personally would consider to be one of Scorsese's best (I tend to hold him up to a higher standard than some of the drivel coming out of Hollywood lately), but certainly entertaining. Worth checking out if mystery creepiness is kind of your liking, thought all the actors did a decent job of portraying their characters, yadda yadda.
At any rate, I had some pictures that The Big Hump had taken with a few of the other cast members/extras that I had promised not to post anywhere until after the movie had released.
A couple were funny, Thought I'd share.

You'll recognize this poor creepshow character about 5-10 minutes into the movie, tending garden. The Big Hump is on the right, in case you needed a clue, making sure she doesn't escape and hide under your bed tonight.

Here's another poor inmate surrounded by big scary men. I mean seriously - what's with the eyes on that dude in the back? And I wonder how Officer Bob plans to effectively clobber anything by swinging his baton around with his eyes closed... As the baton smacks down on flesh and bone, is it causing screams of anguish to emanate from an unruly patient? Fellow Officer? The Warden's Cat? Can't tell- muh eyes are closed!

The Big Hump, meanwhile - stares directly into the camera and thinks of all the ways he'd like to hurt you... maybe right after he's done escorting this little lady back to her cell for lock down. Lol.

K, last one - just as a trivia thing...
If you look closely at the emblems on the Officers Uniforms, during the time The Big Hump was on this shoot, you'll notice the facility is named "Ashecliffe" - which was the tentative name of the movie before the name "Shutter Island" was chosen.

I haven't been back to re-watch the movie in the theater yet... and I forgot to look for this on any of the uniforms of the guardsmen in the movie when I was viewing it the first time, so I'm wondering if they're even visible or have been (or will be for DVD release?) digitally changed. Oh well. Maybe one of you will notice it.
    I'm out.

*Snerk* That's funny - I'm just the opposite... haven't seen Avatar yet - been so busy with things... but I definitely want to check it out this weekend before it gets pulled from the theatres/IMAX venues!!

If I'm half as entertained and "wowed" by it as my friends who continually gush about it were, I'll be happy. Lol. Expecting goodness.

Couple more "Ashecliffe" shots the Big Hump sent me over his cell-phone when doing the shoot. If I remember the story right, I think he tried to eat his bag lunch in that Directors Chair once when everyone was on break (just because? Yeah, that sounds like the Hump...), only to be shooed away by a production hand... Scorsese who hasn't left yet for a meal via car to a local restaurant, steps over and asks the production hand what the fuss is about.
Scorsese's reaction was: "Who cares? - let him eat his lunch, I'm not using it Now!" Haha.

You really have to see it in the theater (preferably IMAX) and in 3D or it will not be worth it. The movie is visually breath-taking but the story leaves alot to be desired IMO.

Probably gonna go see Shutter Island this weekend. I have a feeling I'll feel the same way you did about it- pretty good but not on par with older Scorsese.

Pretty cool you're buddy is "The Big Hump" as you call him, even better he got you good seats.

I have to know, who does one look sexy for, while peeing on the wall when drunk? The fella in the mirror? "Hey man, you look like someone I know, can I take your picture? You look marvelous!"

Also looks like you are talking to someone on the phone..."Hey there is this drunk guy peeing all over the wall in the bathroom, and he's well not bad looking in a drunk while peeing on the wall kinda way, there is just something about him..."
