I have a really good friend who I don't get the opportunity to see often, and the entire email/long distance phone calls/MSN messenger things are getting old for both of us. I am trying to convince him to get a BB so we can message or emails can be opened immediately and not only when he is in front of computer.

Can anyone provide any sales pitches I can use to persuade him to come to the dark side (he he)?

    Thanks in Advance.

They're cheap if you know what you need and want. An 8330 Curve can handle basically anything, and a small data plan is perfect if they've got a computer at home. In a few years everyone will own smart phones - might aswell get in the loop early. Also a very good media device(if they're into that)

Where have you been Paddy? You come back on off-topic and don't even stop in at TBL? What's with that?

In 2009 its hard to understand how anyone does not have a smart phone. On the other hand, I honestly don't see the difference in communicating other then its just another way to communicate (since you have said you have various ways already). There are several instant messenger apps available for regular phones in the event you aren't able to convince your friends. BUT if I had to make a argument for the BlackBerry it would be for the personal organization advantage, not for the communication aspect. As previously stated BlackBerry's are becoming more affordable which will make them increasingly popular. Good Luck!

Just let him use your phone for a day and he'll be convinced enough.
