Everytime I go to starbucks or any local cafe I always see someone with a laptop there and they are always there for a long time. I've always wanted to know the point in taking your laptop?

There are also a great many things that do not lend themselves
well to a mobile phone. I'd hate to think of working on the Town
budget in Docs2Go. Right tool for the right job sort of thing.

Sparticus013, here in the Seattle area, a lot of folks have jobs that they can telecommute to. So instead if working from home with distractions or renting office space, they head to places with free Wifi and coffee. Some people need that change of place to keep them focused on their work.

You may notice that many of them snag window tables, or places out of the way of most customer traffic.

A couple of buddies work out of a couple of coffee shops and other restaurants, with their budding software company. They worked out a deal to use the party room in one place, next door to a Starbucks (for the free WiFi), so they can work on the restaurant's slow days with more space.
