Joking aside, as much as I disagree with essentially every syllable that's come out of her mouth, I'll admit she's damn smart. Quite possibly the smartest "politician" in recent memory. Think about it, she realizes she can make far more money being a quazi-politician, quits being gov. of Alaska, writes a crappy book, goes on tour, does speeches for insane amounts of money, and sways the politics of America while still not really being a "politician"...and making a lot more money than them. Consequently this would make Steve Schmidt the most terrible person in America, because if it weren't for him, we'd still have no clue who this "Sarah Palin" even is.

I've got to balls to say it .

Obama was shoved into Office by a group of law twisting lying professions that call them selves ACORN. He got into office by the mass majority of un-educated people that voted on who they liked more. They've turned our presidential election into nothing more than an American Idol on crack. Instead of voting on principle, morals, systematic truths and the fear and the Honor of running once was the Greatest Country in the known planet. They vote on skin color, age, sex, creed, or nationality how they best fit my needs... .. i once heard a guy say that McCain was to old to Run our country, what a better person to run our county. Someone that has lived life, worked for living, and gone though the same trials and worries that we the working middle class has, we run this country and we make it work, when 50% of the people in the USA pay taxes ... WE make the country run.... . People voted partisan v. beliefs. I'm not saying McCain was much better than Obama or GW or Slick Willy.... but the Presidents we've had post JFK have not been the same upright presidents we've had pre JFK.... and it's a sad day when Americans are more worried about voting for American Idol then they are the President of the USA....

Tone down the sensationalism a bit...he won for a pretty simple reason, he just campaigned better than McCain did.

And as you can see by his latest approval ratings, campaigning and actually being President are two different things.

Why does it always seem that us "beltway snobs" seem to understand how politics works better than most others around the US? It's amazing how easy everyone falls for the hype but on by both sides of the aisle.

I agree with the rest of what you said, it seems that these days, politics is more about putting on a show, political theater vs. actual political discourse.

The whole premise of Voting in the USA, is "who do you think will be a fair/ upright/ honest president. Who will lead our country down the correct path, defend it, and honor it at all cost.

No it isn't, it's just about who they like more...no worries though the Founding Fathers figured as much its why a candidate has to be elected via the electoral college not the popular vote.

if you look at the electoral college, in the early days if a state had 9 electoral votes, and one candidate had 30% of the votes and the other had 70% of the votes. The one who had 30% will get 30% of the electoral votes for that state in this case 3 votes, and the other candidate would get the other 70%, in this case 6. But in todays society, and i'd love to know the who/what/when/where and why, the person with the 70% gets all 9.... last time i checked 70% doesn't equal or come close to 100%
