I think they used to unofficially call it Memorial Day, regarding when they left GB and joined Canada.

...coupled of course with memorial for the First Newfoundland Regiment's action at Beaumont-Hazel.

You're only off by about a hundred years regarding independence. The 1982 thing was just for constitutional formality.

Up early from my nap today! Cubs game just starting, it's sunny and I'm not wearing sunglasses, my tank is full but not going anywhere to save US all from the evil oil and best of all the fridge is 3/4's full of beer!

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Canada Day in the backyard and later in the Shed-bo of course! Up bottoms and tops down!!

Well at 5% alcohol you could call it near beer when compared to Faxe Royal Strong at 8%. Bhanghead actually could get Faxe Extra at 10%..
One night I had 7 of the Royal Strong and laid down in the snow for about 15 minutes trying to get back up and found out in the morning that I hadn't closed the back door after making to the house...
