Another fright: I went for my bottle of scotch I'd stashed under a thickly branched decorative cedar. It wasn't there! I couldn't imagine how someone could have found it. Pub's closed, LCBO long closed, and nothing for a nightcap...

So you're strategically stashing bottles of booze around town for when after the pubs close? Cool. Not sure why I never thought of that for younger years, and in relation to drinking in the woods before hitting town. Maybe because our younger appetite was for consuming before hitting town, and uncertainty for if afterwards we'd end up in close enough proximity to one of the stashes. In hindsight, a younger years slowed down late night cap off in the woods somewhere after being in town would probably have also resulted in many of us passing out only to wake up the next morning in the woods (if it wasn't winter and minus 20 below, in which case some of us could have also frozen to death).

Didn't even hit the pub last night, just parked on a bench near the camp and sipped away. More than that isn't good for one's judgement, I'd have probably frozen in the woods myself.
