How many of y’all who don’t have a 5g phone are in a hurry to get one? I’m thinking of waiting another year or two unless I cave this fall and get the new iPhone pro max. I just don’t see the need for 5g anytime soon.
The only way I would get one is if my Pixel 3 XL dies. It's starting to show its age a bit now, but I will try to hold off until the new models come out in the fall. 5g is not yet available in my area and I stick pretty close to home for now so it's not that important to me. If the network around here gets upgraded in the next couple of years I will see.

How is it showing it’s age? I’d think a pixel phone would be good to go for 5 or 6 years.

I get the occasional slow down when I play a game. Usually closing everything down and opening back up corrects the issue. Sometimes have to restart, but I should probably do that every now and then anyway. It is nowhere near the slow down issues with any BlackBerry product I ever had!
Also getting some faint screen burn in. That only shows when a white screen occasionally shows up on an app. I have the dark theme turned on for everything that allows it, which is about 90% of everything.

Plus this Pixel doesn't have a lot of memory. I have a lot of apps. Many more than I ever thought I would ever use. 4GB Ram. I do have 128GB of storage on it.

Reboots are always good from time to time. I forgot that Android needs more RAM than iOS. That isn’t much for a modern android device. I think the new pixels will have at least 6 and possibly 8. That would be plenty I’d think.

I’m curious to see what they release for pixels this year. They should be premiering their first attempt at an in house designed processor.

Yeah, I have been watching. I wasn't impressed with the devices last year. No real high-end device. Maybe the Pixel 6 will be better. I prefer a very large screen.

That's good. They offered the Astra out my way to folks under 55.

That should be interesting, but I don't know about how the very first one will work out. We'll see.

I think it will be a mid tier one but it’s a good sign to start to get away from Qualcomm.
