I don't think JT was talking about the Beaconsfield line in Quebec...
No I am guessing they were talking about the one near London.

As of a couple days ago, Ontario (Canada) announced plans to have kids back to in person school starting in September. We'll see if that actually holds up or not.

If you mean the more publicized hunts, yes but that’s like everyone thinks we all live in Miami and such.

While the bulk of the Everglades are further South of you, the swamps and headwaters are considered to be Lake Okeechobee while the areas of Lake Kissimmee are essentially the same habitat. Burmese pythons are commonly found below the I-4 corridor across the state. Definitely not farther or South from where you live.

However, you have more to worry about with the water moccasins and rattlesnakes since even more common and dangerous.

Well, dammit, if you insist on being technical, Lake Kissimmee is technically South of where I live. Draw a straight line from my house to yours and it is South of the line. Not much but it is.

Do they still have the array of shortwave radio antenna towers in Lake Okeechobee? I used to listen to a couple of stations broadcasting from there.

I don't think it's going to be too bad. We are going to have tropical storm wind and rain, but it won't be as bad as it could have been.

Ever been to Greenville, NC? Back in the day I used to listen to the Voice of America and that's where they had their transmitters and towers. Us radio DXers tend to have a good grasp of geography given that we need to know where to point our antennas to receive signals.

I actually lived close to both of the transmitters for VOA. I lived between Greenville and Washington NC about 3 miles from the big site and later lived in Grimesland NC which is about 5 miles from the second site which is near Black Jack NC. Southeast of Greenville.
