An example of two extremes. No need for the restrictions on the Canadian operator to be as extreme as they are....and, silly that the US operator isn't required to put in place mechanisms to ensure that 100percent of the space on the boat is used by the 50percent passenger load limit in a spread out manner.
    That’s a false equivalency. Don’t do that.

Made sense to me. Only thing maybe wrong with it as a real analogy is the size of the Canadian boat (too big).
It makes no sense. The size of the populations has nothing to do with the behavior.

    I don't understand your point.

The Canadian operator is being restricted too much (in my opinion), since they are only allowed to have 6 passengers on such a big boat, that could clearly support safe physical distancing for more.

The US operator on the other hand is being allowed to have up to 50% the normal load limit, but there doesn't seem to be any direction / guidance / rules in place to ensure that 50% doesn't cram themselves to only a certain area of the boat (like the upper deck), and therefore defeat the purpose of the limit by not following physical distancing suggestions.

That was what I meant by my post.

In a better situation, both operators would be given similar restrictions, maybe something like "..no more that 35% normal limit AND no person allowed to be within 6ft of anyone else that is not part of their direct family bubble ...". Then, both boats would be equally loaded (from a density perspective).

    Edited.

Agree, that size of population has nothing to do with behavior, but Chuck was not suggesting otherwise (at least that was not how I interpreted his post).

I made some other points yesterday also in some of my other posts. Apparently however, the heat then turned up a little later yesterday because it seems at least a handful of posts were deleted from the thread and an admin also stepped in.

Apparently but I was busy with the wife and daughters at Duke’s so I’m not sure.

This thread is being hampered -- ever so slightly -- from reaching its 1M post goal, by the recent trolling and insults (and where they are quoted) that must be deleted. Forget for a moment that such behaviour is not condoned in the Forums in general. Can we not even keep this particular thread eccentric and amiable?
