    My throat suddenly got itchy and in seconds I could not breathe in. I was able to breathe out to yell for help but for about 20 seconds breathing in was near impossible. It seems that my vocal chords reacted to something and closed shut cutting off my airway. I'll be seeing my 😷

    It happened to my once before about 2 months ago but since I was eating that I had figured it was a piece of pork chop that had lodged in my throat. But this time it happened without me doing anything and the feeling and experience was exactly the same. No allergies, but I'm using nicotine gum and that might be irritating my throat. Chew that stuff a little too fast and you get a nice rush 😀

    I was never a smoker so I know nothing about nicotine gum. But your description sounds like what some people with severe food allergies experience. Maybe ask your doctor about prescribing an epi-pen for emergencies.
