the seminar is a pre to retirement. Not everyone attending is considering retirement....it comes before retirement. Therefore it's a pre-retirement seminar. not my words, theirs.

You just don't get it!
Do you pre-board a plane before getting on it? NO you simply board the plane.
Do you pre-heat your oven before heating it. NO! you simply turn it on and heat it up.
The seminar you are attending is about retirement... weather you are considering it or not. the only thing about a pre-retirement seminar is that you'd be going to the same seminar before you went to the same seminar.

You don't even preview something on TV. You simply view it!
