I've had this problem with this laptop ever since I got it. It's not a HUGE deal but it's enough to be irritating. When I type, occasionally the cursor will move and I'll be typing in a totally different area. This hasn't happened on ANY of my previous laptops, and EVERY support rep I've spoken to about this is like "HURR HURR YOU'RE RESTING YOUR PALM ON THE TOUCHPAD, YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS...." No. No I'm not. I type like a normal human being. So they had me change the settings. Of course that didn't work. So then they had me reset them to default settings...and said "Is there anything else I can do for you today?" YES YOU CAN FIX MY COMPUTER!!!

Unfortunately, they'd rather you buy a new one. Is it one of the metalic looking touchpads with a vertical bar on the right so you can scroll up and down with the touchpad? If so, there are known defects with those. No matter where you set the sensitivity, your wrist, as far as 3 or 4 inches away, activates the touchpad. But they won't tell you that.
