Oh, you better believe it. We both had bad firsts, we were the good halves of bad marriages, and we have a real solid one.

That sounds like my situation. I was the good half in both my first two marriages and my current wife was the good half in her marriage. We now have a great relationship.

I was actually surprised to see Alltel was even still around, then I saw a store in Marion the other day. I guess they're down to just a handful of survivors. I thought Verizon had pretty well disposed of them. It kinda made their 'making the other carriers look dumb' ads go away, though.

This will be the first year I pay into Federal in a long time. Get enough back from state to offset it, plus pay for some needed car work.

You lucky duck. I will be paying in to both federal and state. But I would rather pay in at the end and have the interest along the way than pay it and let the gov have the interest.

However, I might switch. The only reason I'm sticking with Alltel is I'm still on their old plan where I get unlimited data and can list 25 numbers (landline and mobile) that I don't get charged minutes on.

Unlimited data, no roaming charges, and all mobile-to-mobile are free. We have 1500 minutes a month on 5 smartphones, and don't even come close to our time limits. Maybe 500 minutes a month on a busy one. We haven't broken a thousand yet, that I've seen.

We'll, finally got an attaboy from my fleet manager, telling me I've averaged over 10,122 miles a month over the last ten months, and need to average 8990 for the next two to get a raise. And that he was happy about my low idle percentage. I hope that doesn't hurt my miles in the next two months....

Between Verizon and AT&T most of them did go away. The third company to get in on it was Atlantic Tele-Network that got the market share VZW had a monopoly in. ATN then bought the old Alltel building in Little Rock, hire most of the old Alltel execs, and formed a new company under the name of Allied Wireless Communications Corporation which used the Alltel name.
