Two Navy ships 'bump' at sea. The Admiral promptly calls sigs and says to send a message that he was extremely angry, and further errors would be met with a painful arse chewing.

Sigs sends message, 'Admiral sends: Touch me there again and I'll scream!'

This is a true incident, I was on watch when it happened.

We were off the coast of California conducting a communications exercise, and the Admiral was monitoring the net from the XO's seat. There was one participant that kept leaving off their call sign, and totally messing up their transmissions.

The Admiral was fuming. He finally grabbed the handset and proceded to berate the unit for using poor radio discipline, telling them that they would make every effort to use proper procedures and the like. He then told the operator to acknowledge immediately.

The reply? Well, gee, I guess we're just all f****d up then, aren't we?

The Admiral paused, veins bulging, and forcefully ordered the offender to identify themselves.

Pause.

The reply?

"We're not that f****d up, sir. Out"
