Now here's what I'm talkin' about. Genuine RI New York System weiners. Also known as gaggers, gut bombs, or belly-f#ckers.

Buns are steamed; mustard and diced onions can be gotten anywhere. But the meat sauce recipe is a secret, and -- for reasons unbeknownst to all but a very privileged few -- the weiners themselves are not allowed out of the state. In days gone by, the chef would run about 20 of these things all the way up his arm. And no freakin' latex gloves. The rhythm of slopping on all the requisite condiments was like watching an artist at work.

The Olneyville New York System was on a Man vs Food Nation episode, and the challenge was to put down 15 of these things. Some local guy (not Adam) made it to 14 1/2 and then I think had an intestinal aneurysm. One of the few really good reasons to visit RI.
