Unfortunately, they'd rather you buy a new one. Is it one of the metalic looking touchpads with a vertical bar on the right so you can scroll up and down with the touchpad? If so, there are known defects with those. No matter where you set the sensitivity, your wrist, as far as 3 or 4 inches away, activates the touchpad. But they won't tell you that.

PP does it have a switch or button that turns the pad off? If so does it still do it with it off?

I know they want to make the things do everything but it annoys me and I turn all of those features off as I'm always tapping and clicking something I don't want to or one of the other "features" do something I didn't want. So yep I'm old school touch pad. Move the mouse and use buttons to click.

I wonder if Lenovo is ever going to put out win8 drivers for my lappy. It works OK but sometimes it does things that just isn't right. I also have something in device manager that is unknown even after installing chipset drivers and all.
