I wanted to work all weekend... and instead, didn't. Birthday parties to hit up Friday and Saturday night... which meant slow Saturday and Sunday mornings, then had a full afternoon at the in laws today. Enjoyable. But not productive.

Family is #1.

Ok, so I've turned on Forum Post counts throughout the social forums again. Will do a Site Announcement post tomorrow once I verify if we can back update the post counts or not.

So again, I think the key distinction to remember here is that post count is truly a sign of activity, not reputation, even though we do have User Titles today that sort of infer reputation based on post count. I think for now we'll just watch and see how things go. I don't for see any issues. If we do, there are some remedies. For example, on Android Central they don't have User Titles like they do on CrackBerry based on post count, simply for that reason of avoiding potential abuse of it. If we wanted, we could a) get rid of user titles all together, b) let users fill in their own user title, or c) revise the user titles so they're more activity focused (and once you hit 5k or whatever you request your own). Lots of ways to address it if we see anything again pop up as a real issue here.

But I think it's just simpler and more consistent for sure that every post counts as a post. Not just some posts.

It's okay -- you're allowed. Just because we don't have anything better to do doesn't mean you can't. I know I cherish my weekends and not having to work.

I like the idea of hitting certain milestones in post counts and naming your own title. If you did that you could reserve some type of special recognition to those that are super posters at 10,000 or 20,000.
