I never realized mastiffs were such lazy dogs.
Their temprement does not match their appearance or reputation. They're incredibly sweet and can often be mistaken for area rugs (sometimes with huge puddles of drool next to them). One of my best friends ever was an English Mastiff!

I didn't think they looked mean at all. I just thought they looked like they are lazy and like to sleep a lot.

So they like to play a lot?

I worked in a chemical lab for a while. I never did any pranks with chemicals when I took chemistry classes in college, but some of my co-workers told me of their pranks.

One guy put methylene blue in someone's beer. The guy had quite a shock when he visited the restroom.

Someone else was a TA and had a student who always brought a can of Coke in the lab, despite the rules stating no food or beverages. That guy put phenolphthalein in the Coke. The student ran out of the room and just made it to a toilet.
Did the methylene blue trick to someone in high school. Not only did it change the 'fluid' color, but, apparently, as he later reported, it 'highlighted' his whole tract!

Not me. I am fully prepared for the possibility that I won't like BB10 for the exact reasons that I have no desire whatsoever to switch to iOS or Android. I like BBOS, which is why I use BBOS and not something else. BB10 may be BBOS taken to the next level, which I'll eat up like last night's spaghetti for breakfast, or it may be something totally different that I may or may not want to be my next phone. Whatever it is, I won't ever change my tune that I simply don't prefer iPhone and I flat out loath Android.
    Everybody doesn't like something...

They're bringing towers offline to implement LTE. The procedure is not supposed to bring voice or 3G offline, but I guess they haven't totally figured it out yet. BTW, you should consider dusting off your old 9000, popping your SIM in it, and checking out the Be 5000 BBM group.

    Yes, I remember seeing that.

The micro-SIM is tiny anyway. I doubt if I would even be able to insert one properly. I let the AT&T rep take care of it.

Part of the reason I want one! This is from www.dogbreedinfo.com :

The Mastiff is a very massive, powerful, muscular dog. Dominance levels vary, even within the same litter, but they are often called a gentle giant. A born guard dog, they rarely bark, but it is in its nature to defend their territory and family, and is more a silent guard rather than a barker. When an intruder is caught they are more likely to hold them at bay, either by trapping them in a corner or laying on top of them rather than an all out attack. You do not need to train them to guard. No matter how friendly they are, if they sense danger they will naturally guard on their own unless the owners are there to tell them otherwise. Self-confident and watchful, they are patient and considered excellent with children. Intelligent, calm, even-tempered and docile. This breed is very large and heavy. They respond well to firm, but gentle, patient training. They love to please and need a lot of human leadership. Socialize them well to prevent them from becoming aloof with strangers. Owners need to be firm, calm, consistent, confident with an air of natural authority to communicate to the Mastiff that dominance is unwanted. If socialized with proper leadership it will get along well with other dogs. The Mastiff tends to drool, wheeze and snore loudly. They can be somewhat difficult to train. The objective in training this dog is to achieve a pack leader status. It is a natural instinct for a dog to have an order in their pack. When we humans live with dogs, we become their pack. The entire pack cooperates under a single leader. Lines are clearly defined and rules are set. Because a dog communicates his displeasure with growling and eventually biting, all other humans MUST be higher up in the order than the dog. The humans must be the ones making the decisions, not the dogs. That is the only way your relationship with your dog can be a complete success.
The American Mastiff I want is just about identical in all facets to this one (the Olde English Mastiff), but, as I said before, has a much drier mouth.

dogbreedinfo.com is one of my favorite sites for reference to any breed. Their breed descriptions, including temprement, are more accurate, imo, than even the AKC site! Plus they have lots of user submitted pics for each breed.

Oh, yeah... The American Mastiff also do not have the health problems associated with larger dogs like bloat, hip dysplasia, and cardiomyopathy.

Agreed, this site is pretty spot on. I also enjoy the history of where breeds came from.

It's a long way to 50K and it occurred to me that this might be a good place to start a challenge. So here it it:

The Bold Pantless 5000 Scavenger Hunt

Here's how it works. There are 10 items listed below. Take a picture of each one and post it here. The first one to successfully post all 10 pics will win a custom wallpaper commemorating the event. The items all have something to do with this thread in one way or another.

    Here's the list:
    1. Febreeze (of course)
    2. Any sign with the letters "RIM" or "BB". (The letters must be in order)
    3. A troll (of any sort)
    4. An empty bottle of liquor, beer, or wine
    5. A guitar
    6. Someone holding a Blackberry phone that is not yours.
    7. A meal at a restaurant
    8. An old concert/sporting event ticket stub
    9. A CD, record, or cassette case that conatins any song referenced in this thread.
    10. Pantless legs

When you post the picture, please reference the item number that you want it counted toward. Anyone in this thread can dispute anyone else's entry, but picture disqualification will be based on a majority.

This contest is open to anyone with the ability to post on CrackBerry.com. Pictures must be taken specifically for this contest and cannot be existing picures on your phone or camera, and definitely cannot be poached from the interwebz.

    All aboard!!!

NOTE: I titled this reply "Challenge within a challenge!" so that you can search for it easily in case you lose track of the list.

    EDIT**
1 additional rule - After you have submitted the 10th and final pic, you must create a reply that multiquotes all 10 of your pics. The first post with all 10 pics is the winner.
