I'm the voice on the big company earnings calls that welcomes everyone to the call, introduces the moderator, and also facilitates their q&a portion. We also do webinars, training, livemeeting/webex, court calls, etc. Basically if you need to be connected to a group of people, I'm your gal!

I mean after all we already highjacked it from h2hockey and he never did come back so I don't think he would mind.

I think it's OK the way it stands. Even though the post count increments, we were all basically counting down. Each post increases the post count, but I've been using the 5000 - X formula. This way, as we venture onward to 10,000, we simply replace the 5000 with 10,000 so now we're looking at 10,000 - X. Besides, '5000' is the mantra of this thread so I think it's more fitting to refer to now working toward 5000X2 or maybe n(5000-X). Doesn't that make us all sound smarter?

This is kind of like when you step out of the roller coaster, run down the ramp, go back up the entrance ramp and take a seat for your second ride.

If we got an infestation of posts like that, I wouldn't consider it 5000 material, but as a single instance, I think that it actually stands out in terms of it's randomness in the context of the thread.

Another board I belong to for second life had a thread that went over 5000 posts as well. The mods made an award avatar for everyone who posted in it, it was a picture of a train wreck and the caption was "I survived the epic 5000 thread"

We all need some award avatar or something.

We already have a wallpaper that some have used for an avatar. If anyone would like to suggest a change to it to convey that 5000 posts have been achieved, I'd be more than willing to make the 5000 Wallpaper V2.0.
