I bought Blondie's Autoamerican the week it came out in late November of 1980. "The Tide is High" was the hit at that point since it was released as a single nearly a month before the album (bought that 45 too). Upon first listen of that LP, it was "Rapture" that got my attention. Played it for all my friends in high school (I was a junior at the time). Imagine my surprise when it became the next single to be released two weeks into the new year.

I was not into rap as a genre, though very aware of it at that time, and never got further into it afterward. I just loved that track. Still do. I'll crank "Rapture" when given the chance along with "Angels on the Balcony", " T-Birds", and "Walk Like Me".

I know that album itself is not generally highly regarded, but I still like it. I'll play it as often as I play Parallel Lines or Eat to the Beat.

Maybe Heart Of Glass their most famous song? Not sure, but that song always had a specific memory for me, and not from when it came out but from much later.
