You’re not being political. I do find the data throughout various populations contradictory to expected outcomes. FL and NY are just two states that have very similar multiple demographics. I expected death rates to be almost identical.

But you have to remember that for a while "we" (NY) had a thousand people dying daily. For several weeks. So if I'm not mistaken, other states took measures to prevent that . Not ALL states, but some. Am I right?
