I beg to differ. That's a conspiracy theory by those who are not prepared for retirement. Unfortunately, that is going to apply to a couple of generations in the future.

It's already been happening since FDR when people thought SSI was supposed to provide a free ride after qualifying. People weren't supposed to live very long. Most people don't save anything let alone nearly enough to support what they spend. That's reason for all the old-timers being part-timers. Consumerism kills

Self employed people pay the full 12.4%. I wonder what kind of Socialist programs these conservative right wing crybabies will be clamoring for when Daddy Trump and his Republican henchmen take their Social Security and Disability away? Oh wait...... they have already started with the payroll tax holiday.

Nobody is taking away SSI. The employers will be required to withhold additional to catch things backup. So, paycheck went up and will go back down at greater rate until caught up. Kinda like a payday loan without the interest rate.

I've not seen the real benefit except that most people under $50-60K income don't really pay much if any federal income tax anyway. That's been the case regardless of party.

Camping is fun. I never want too leave either.

My brother and I camped for many years when we where touring the US and Canada on two wheels, quit touring in 2012 when I came down with Cellutitus in my right leg.

Now we just do local day rides, I do miss chasing down the National Park stamps and seeing this great land, but those days are behind me now.

The best part is we covered all 48 of the lower, 8 Canadian provinces and most of the National Parks in 30+ years of touring.
