    Hi and congratulations, bakron!

It is and it took me 40+ years or hard work to get to this point.

Is that like a HAM in the US? My brother-in-law is a HAM and my niece & nephew both got their licenses as kids.

Hey Rags, I'm a AM radio DXer meaning that I try listen to and identity radio stations from distant locations. Well when I lived in Montreal listening to WBZ 1030 was easy. But yeah I was able to catch it all the way out in Winnipeg tonight.

Hey grover, I thought of you today - I made a really good grilled cheese sandwich - didn't burn it or anything!

I used oatmeal bread and swiss cheese, and a combo of butter and olive oil to fry in. On the inside of the bread I drizzled a little balsamic vinegar glaze, and I also had 1 slice of Canadian bacon in there. YUMMMM!

No I just listen to radio whereas a Ham also transmits and communicates via radio.

Thanks! Reading the descriptions of some of your meals with Heidi, I'd say you're no stranger to gourmet meals yourself. You need to start posting recipes.

Non, monsieur, je regrette que je ne parle pas bien le Francais (although I can fake it well if I'm singing). I studied it for a year, but I also studied several other languages (not all at the same time) and I found French difficult to get even timidly conversational. I can put a few sentences together, as you saw. But my vocabulary is way too "petite" to be able to converse comfortably in French without a dictionary. Sorry to disappoint...

DXing is the hobby of receiving and identifying distant radio or television signals, or making two-way radio contact with distant stations in amateur radio, citizens' band radio or other two-way radio communications. Many DXers also attempt to obtain written verifications of reception or contact, sometimes referred to as "QSLs" or "veries". The name of the hobby comes from DX, telegraphic shorthand for "distance" or "distant".[1]
