When I was in Phoenix last month, we went to the zoo one morning, where we had the chance to feed the lorikeets some cut up apples. They have hundreds of lorikeets in a very large fenced area with trees, and at feeding time, the zoo allows visitors to hold the apples, and the birds come swooping down to sit on your arms and hands and chomp away at the fruit. The birds are gorgeous, and very tame. I managed to get some bad pictures on my Classic, struggling with the hand that wasn't overloaded with hungry birds. I'll have to see if I can upload one here using the website forums interface.

We were also warned that feeding time can only last 15 minutes, since that is how long it takes anything eaten by the birds to work through their systems and come out their other ends. We were given a 2-minute warning to exit the area before all the birds started raining apple-**** on our heads from up in the branches! Great fun. :-D

Sorry those are somewhat out of focus, and a little on the purple side. It's a miracle I didn't drop my phone while I was taking these left-handed (which I'm not). I probably had the camera lens at least partially facing the sun too, but oh well. :-). #DidntDroptheClassic
