All this talk about Florida..... Just when you think YOU'VE got it bad....
I'm Jewish on my Parents side and I'm from New Jersey. When you're born, along with your certificate, there's a few rule that come with it. Been Jewish you are assigned a therapist and you must retire to Florida.
Well, it just so happens the grandfolks had a home on Bay Harbor Island ( Broad Causeway) Miami. I first had a condo at the Brickell Bay Club, My Folks bought a condo in the then brand new area of Lauderhill called Inverrary on the Golf Course (of course) where the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Golf Classic's were held. Somewhere in there I moved into the Quayside Towers.
What made it doable for me waa Bartending at the Button South which opened at 11:PM to the best live music from the Palm Beaches to Key West. And I also tended bar at The World Famous Candy Store on the Ft. Lauderdale strip during the Original Spring Breaks . Four hour shifts and an easy $1,000 in tips. Have I got some stories!!!!

So, I basically learned to love how much I hated Florida. And this when Alligator Alley was a two lane road. Now to drive 15 miles from the A1A up Oakland Park Blvd. to Lauderhill takes at least 45 minutes.
I got out of and made it to Santa Cruz.

And that's all I have to say about that!!
