Ah the roads and covered bridges, I had a little Saab three banger, was actually my first car, much fun I use to drift that li'l sucker 'round the bends at night when you could see headlights coming ahead of time
Yeah during that day it would likely be suicide. Ive been to many of the towns up there, I do really want to go to the NE Kingdom, but it takes a permit since its mostly owned by paper companies lol

I know that area well! Smuggler's knotch has an amazing firewords display on the 4th of July. Being in that valley makes it MUCH louder and seem much brighter. The roads there are quite fun, unless of course you are in mud season, then you can expect to get stuck.
    And then . . . . . . stick-in-the-mud?

dirt/gravel roads for MOST of the state + a ton of melting snow = mud season.

I get about 27 pages behind and feel some strange sense of obligation to read them all before posting, even though I know in advance that what I'm posting will have nothing to do with anything. I need help.

But anyway, when I hear Gaelic sung like this, I get this dreamlike feeling that I can understand the words...or that I could, if I just listened a little harder.

I think Julie Fowlis is terrific and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh ain't bad neither. The tin whistles at the end are perfect.

That is simply the best part of it isnt it? Gorgeous scenery, great people, and resistant to the ills of time.

I have the same problem. If I reply as I read, when I move on, I find that either someone's already posted a reply or that my reply is pages beyond the original post and is quite out of context. Having said that, I find that given the completely random nature of this thread, I find that posts that have nothing to do with nothing is part of the fun here.
