If only gay fuel was available back then, bet that coffee shop would still be open.

I don't mean to ask anything that may be uncomfortable but I am curious how the gay community is perceived in the US, I only know what I see on the news. Seams so archaic, I don't mean to suggest in any way we are more progressive here but I don't understand why there is so much controversy over it there.

I don't think anyone can say any community (whether based upon race, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, religion) is perceived a certain way by the US in general.

    It all depends upon individuals.

That's good news, we certainly have our share of bigots here but being gay is about as controversial as being left handed.

Luckily I've encountered more bigotry from "internet toughguys" than I have in real life (the few instances with the Phelps cult don't count). Oddly enough, I've encountered a lot of bigotry on Android Forums :S.

That's pretty much how it is with anything on the Internet.

Any and all forums have trolls and haters who start fights due to the anonymity provided, even if they would not start fights IRL (or don't even hate IRL).

I don't know any members of the Linux Groups who hate Windows, but Linux forums sure have a lot of Windows haters.

There is left handed people on here? Not for long d@mmit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. In the U.S. it really is dependent on the folks you talk to. I know people that are incredibly opinionated in one way or the other and some that are not about anything. Where it gets really fun is when one side accuses the other of bias behavior while exhibiting the same.

I like how eye doctors still use Latin for left eye and right eye on prescriptions for glasses/contacts: oculus sinister and oculus dexter.

I'm the same and since I found about about that while shooting at the range, sinister kinda fits. (sinister=left?)

That's unusual. In most cases of nearsightedness, the dominant eye is more nearsighted. Ocular dominance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The lady-friend's coworker actually brought a bottle of mescal back from Mexico because she knows how how much I like tequila... just down to the worm now, but not in a hurry to actually eat the worm... I just enjoy the ride to it!

Yes, but don't forget there are a lot of really stupid and ignorant individuals in this country ... and I think a bunch of them are posting in Snooze & Tumors right now.
