Kev: I kinda had a wake up call yesterday. Have a friend who's having something done to his home and I offered him a place and I said, "make yourself at home" and mentioned feel free to shower and so on. When I said "shower" he responded with " I take a shower everyday. I didn't think anything of it, but later, I remembered the conversation and I laughed to myself that he had responded with a joke. But, then, I don't know why, but it occurred to me "what if he thought I meant that he needed a shower.
I asked him later about it and he thought I was suggesting that he needed a shower.
It made me wonder if my "way" here is a bit too harsh.
