Possibly, but you may be better to talk to your lawyer down there. Im no lawyer as you are aware of but I know a fair amount about real estate law in Ontario. It will be different in NY state. Up here you would just get the home appraised and buy out the other person based on market value

It's all good Grover , but thanks. At least he didn't drag it out. We have all seen that with cancer. Now I have the job of helping to clean out his house, fix it up a bit and put it on the market. The goal is to get as much as we can for his kids

I'm glad to hear it. So, you get rid of most of the furniture and other hazards,huh? I always worried about you falling down and hitting a piece of furniture. Now, you can free fall and you don't even have to clean the spots you spill your beer on.
