"If you can't soar with the eagles, then don't fly with the flock!" (BBM#18)10-10-13 06:11 PMLike 3 - God Bless you all. My mom and sister have battled it and survived. It's been a while now and no signs of it returning.
It was long, stressful months. My prayers go out to those in our CrackBerry family who are fighting it now or to their friends and family who may be fighting the disease.

Go to the doctor! Get your regular checkups. Do it for yourself and your loved ones. possibly catch it in time.

- Sorry for you losses. I agree with you. When I lost my mom, a whole piece of me died. Never been the same since.10-11-13 03:02 PMLike 4
- When my mother-in-law died I found out that the more that time passed the worse it got. It took me four years before I could go to their house and not cry while I was there.10-11-13 09:42 PMLike 0

Remember I'd told you all my grandmother had recently learned she had cancer? Well the doctor ordered another test for some reason and it turns out she does NOT have cancer! Good news of course! But strange

- It just seems appropriate to start this thread this month.
I'm a 5 year cancer survivor myself. Yep I was unknowingly initiated into the Pink Ribbon Sorority 2/1/2008.
Treatments may end but security never returns. Remission is never guaranteed.
If you are going through treatment, in remission, are a care giver, have a loved one going through cancer or have lost a loved one to this disease, feel free to share your story here.
And send me a PM if you would like to form a BBM cancer group.
May God Bless us all!

Went through 6 months of chemo and 31 radiation treatments. Thankfully my wife and children were very supportive. Going on 2 years cancer free!!

- Tomorrow we have to take my ten year old to a tumor specialist. A couple weeks ago he broke his arm, and an MRI revealed what they are calling for now a "bone tumor".
Needless to say it's been a rough couple of weeks waiting for this appointment as they won't tell us anything.
Interesting how something like this changes your perspective. Last week I was at Five Below picking up some things, and at the register the girl asked if I wanted to donate to their St Jude's fundraising drive. Reflexively I said no, as money is tight. In that split second I looked down at the card she was holding out and the kid on it looked the same age as my son, and his diagnosis said "bone tumor". Needless to say I made a donation that night.
You never want to see the word tumor, but when it's your own kid, well, it's so much harder.

Funny thing about cancer, it's a silent killer. Being found early gives the highest probability for remission! I know b/c mine was found in a routine test, early. Few months would have changed my prognosis significantly.
I also understand your despair over your child being in a life/death battle. A year into my treatments my daughter got really sick too. ( She was in 7th grade). We spent 10 days in Scottish Rite in Atlanta, she was in critical condition and almost died right there in front of me with nothing I could do.
Though I know it wasn't God's will for her to be so sick, I know it was God's will for her to be in the room next to the helicopter pad. Helicopters would land all through the night and I would hear them and begin to pray for the child, their family, the staff/dr.'s etc.
We ended up having to take her to Wake Forrest Univ medical school. Where, praise God, they were able to diagnose and treat successfully.
Today she is a senior in high school and absolutely beautiful inside and out.
I'm praying for your son to be healed and for all of you to be strong while God does His thing.
Please come back and tell us how he is.
Please feel free to add me to your BBM 3343fde8 I'd love to be there for you as you go through this
God Bless your son and you!!
