Well duh... Of course I know they're a team. My question should have been why are they called habs if the team name is Canadiens.

So according to your link, they really shouldn't be called the habs but rather the hocks since the h doesn't really stand for habitants.

You know, it's kind of ironic that the only non-Chicago sports team jersey I have in my closet is a Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey/Sweater ...... a gift from a Canadian lady friend.

How did I not find this thread before? I need to search this site in greater depth.

Just wanted to say I was at game 6 in Boston. Ohhh the heartbreak!!! I know some think that, WOW you saw a game the cup was actually won in! Uhhhh yea, I guess so. Lol. Would rather have been at home for game 7 to see Bruins win but... c'est la vie!

They do still look pretty good this year even after loosing some big names! I'd love to go back in 2014 & do it again.

Side note: can't believe how well behaved everybody was in the streets after the game. A lot of Blackhawk jersey's & people just congratulating them & vise versa! Very classy!
