    I think it is.

If your conscious enough to get your phone out after an accident, you ought to be able to give out your info at the very least.

And really you should memorize all the info you need to know when involved in an accident, its really not a lot to remember.

Too many superfluous apps out there...

Like I'm gonna memorize my insurance policy number...heck I don't even have my license plate number memorized. That's why we're provided with insurance and registration cards for the glove box.

This app is just a natural technological extension of that.

Furthermore, even if I did have all those crazy numbers in my head, a nasty enough accident would probably have my brain too frazzled to retrieve the information from memory so I'd be reaching for the glove box anyway.

I've got that stuff memorized... maybe I'm just weird, I don't know.

It's not hard tho, I've had the same policy # for almost 10 years and my license plate is only 6 characters, I don't make an effort to memorize them... I just remember.

This app is basically the same as a piece of paper you can keep in your car with all your info on it.

Plus if your phone gets stolen with that information on it, you're in alot of trouble. You can get a lot of money for nothing with someone else's insurance information.

    A registration/insurance black market?

Seriously, I don't think insurance information is worth anything. Else we'd have reports out the wazoo of people breaking into cars and stealing insurance cards.

Well you have to know how to use the information. It's not as valuable as a credit card # but you can trust me.

I take auto claims over the phone, I file fraudulent claims on a daily basis. And I know alot of them get paid to people who don't deserve it.
