because RIM themselves promised or better a$$umed a much much longer future for it either.

Having written that, you joined recently. 1600 posts since than - wow - almost 40/day.
And the content of your posts - quite sophisticated and positive always -
especially for a device which wasn't updated since 2012.

On top you from Canada - rather suspicious of a claqueur on RIM's payroll to keep
their dying PB-patient alive.

I still say you should let me take him up. Why can I not have some fun as well? I think he would like the view from 150ft at 450mph then switching reheat on and climbing to 27000ft vertically in about 58secs. You are a spoilsport!

I hope BB10 does NOT come to the Playbook. I have 2 64 gb Playbooks and I love the OS. I am sad to also say that I own 2 Z10s one for me and another for my wife. I HATE BB10! BB10 does not compare to the Playbook OS... I'm not sure about speed... but for sure the swipe ability and home screen orientation of the Playbook surpasses BB10 by far. The only reason I upgraded to the Z10 was for the hope that BB10 would be better than the Playbook OS.... but it is NOT. I am always lost on my Z10. The flow is terrible. We can access BBM from the Camera!... I don't want that... then I have hit back a ton of times to get back to the picture after sharing it... instead... it should have just opened BBM so I can share multiple pictures FAST... but flow is terrible because it doesn't really flow. BB10 is not ready for the market. The lost of the original Blackberry Bridge apps killed my Playbooks. Now my Playbooks belong to my 7 and 5 year old boys... I switched to a Galaxy 10. If they don't do fix the problem soon.... It doesn't matter how much love we throw at Blackberry... they are done...
