technically all you new yorkers are all new amstradamers.

quick fact new york was first called new amstradam

Don't know if this is a wind up or not but having bought amstrad in the past I can't laugh about it. Did you mean Amsterdam?

I'm not sure about that spelling but, having grown up way back when (no, it was no longer New Amsterdam but still a LONG TIME AGO), we had Social Studies and local history, etc. So I know about Peter's Minuet and Stuyvesant Henry Hudson and the purchase of that tacky Manhattan real estate for some shells.

The Big Tulip - I like it. I did come from dat Dutch borough, Da Bronx. Van Cortlandt Park, Spuyten Duyvil, Henry Hudson Parkway. I mean, the results were not bad, we had a NEWER York than you did.

You can keep it. York is very nice

Can't quite say the same for Washington mind you

I can't recall which thread it is where you complain about your lack of knowledge/understanding about the US? Here's a clue - title "The Most Famous Brand From Each State In The US". The second one explains what you are doing here, its title "Every Country England Has Ever Invaded (all but 22 countries in the world)":
