I see a lot of interesting avatars and always wonder (a) why it was chosen and
(b) does it have a meaning to the user.
My current avatar is the confluence of three things.
1) I was looking up info on squirrels and that pic popped up and I had to have it.
2) BigBadWulf coined the term "Modfia" and I thought it fit the image.
3) LazyStarGazer dubbed him Vinnie "The Squirrel" DeLuca. Sort of the
"Modfia" enforcer. That sealed it.
1.) My first avatar was of Madonna, I'm a huge fan.
2.) My second avatar was of a Valium bottle, and although I don't take Valium, I take Clonazepam (Kolonopin) and I <3 them.
3.) My Third avatar is just my handle name. It's probably gonna change soon though.
I have a Red/White 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 which I absolutely love. I got tired of using the basic BB device avatars so I decided to throw the R1 up there. I couldn't find a U.S. Red/White one so I just used the European version. Being a tremendous underachiever, I'd rather use the image I found on Google than take the 5 or so minutes to take a picture of my bike and make an avatar out of it.
I honestly couldn't find anything to use for an avatar when I was signing up, and God forbid I should subject this forum to my face.
Zim rocks, and I had the above Zim graphic on the PC at the time. Put him up as a placeholder, and he's been there ever since. He's even carried over to my Twitter avatar.
An old girlfriend once told me that when we met, she described me as a pond of serenity. After being calmed, she decided to reach to touch the bottom of it, thinking she would get her hand wet, and suddenly realized she was soaked to the shoulder and being sucked in.
So the rings draw you ever onward, you are getting pulled further....the bottom beckons, but isn't ever reached.

My first avatar here was a basement pic of me.
My second avatar was a pic my friend photoshopped of me of Jimi Hendrix.
Later avatars are just updated photos of me.
