Anyone think that blackberry is the new nextel, like me? The phones are very sturdy, and can take a lot of damage. Service is very good, and hardly ever goes out. They have its own communication system (direct connect ptt/bbm). But, it is years behind other technologies, and lacks the many features other phones have. This is not trying to bash blackberry at all, just an observation up for discussion.

If RIM dies it dies. No reason to worry about it. Enjoy it while it is here.

No, RIM is nothing like the next Nextel which was a phone network not a smartphone provider. It could be the next Palm/Nokia though.

Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) is a mobile telecommunications technology. How is that like a company that makes phones?
