I came off Active Duty this past September and came home from the last deployment last March. Also, if it means anything, I have a daughter in the Army Reserves being commissioned shortly.

An old friend of mine is currently deployed and we are putting together boxes at work to send in support of his unit.

I truly appreciate the kind words. I was raised in a military family, dad was a Marine. It just what we do in our family. I have 14 years in and have transitioned into the Reserve side of things. I have a son getting ready to join and another who had joined and is out already. Daughter is SMP and will be a 1LT soon. Proud dad more than anything at this point.

I give the credit t my company. We have a couple veterans that work here. When my friend said that he is deploying(for the fifth time) I knew that I wanted to support him and his unit. When I mentioned it to my fellow employees they all pledged to help. My boss has vowed to make sure that this is not a one time thing. We will send two dozen boxes every quarter. Very happy to be working where I am.

Well, I just saw this thread. I don't come here that often anymore. Thank you to all of you who serve, and have served. You can see my emblem and see who I served with. But, to be technical, I am -was a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman and I served almost 3 years with "Charlie" Company 2nd Recon Bn in the early 70s .....That's a Marine Corps Unit ....Marines get their "Docs" from the Navy, but we have to volunteer for Recon duty. Or had to back then anyway. I was 17 years old when I enlisted. Thought I was a man! LOL! And now, I'm a "Senior Citizen!" LOL! What I really wanted to be was a Naval Aviator. I wanted to fly fighter jets. Unfortunately, I didn't have the qualifying eyesight. Well, that's my story.
