Lithium batteries are dangerous if abused. when they first came out, you average notebook computer was as potent as half a stick of dynamite. Supposedly newer formulations just burn rather than explode.

BlackBerry phones get criticized for the distance from the LCD edge to the edge of the phone. That is because there is a steel frame there that keeps the phone from bending, which in turn protects the battery.

Apple has a history of lithium battery screw ups, but on their notebooks. This one was after the recall for the initial batch of toasty macs.

I do think Apple's quest for thinner and lighter is part of the problem. The never mention stronger.

I was watching TWIT last week and the panel was praising the Samsung S6 due to its use of a metal frame on the edge and a glass back. Give me a slab of plastic with an internal metal frame any day. I'm coming up to the two year point on my Z10 and it looks good. The tempered glass screen protector could use replacing.

Not enough information to go by.

Was it purchased new or used? Did someone put a Ginsu battery in it, or was it the original one?
