When Google released the first version of their Android OS, how did it compare to the then current version of Apples iOS?

It was missing a lot of touch features for one. It had a track ball on most phones and keyboard on a few. No pinch to zoom, etc. It lacked apps and lacked support for some email types, such as Exchange. I will note that the iOS exchange support was weak then also, but workable. The first few versions of Android also had UI inconsistencies and the look was not good.

Agreed. The pace of improvement is staggering.

Yeah, I thought that in its first iteration, Android was clunky and a bit hollow as an OS.

I think it has matured a GREAT deal.
