Pencil eraser is certainly the good reliable standard. Safe, too. Eraser on mechanical Pentel fits nicely.
True -- I love my Passport SE, and it's my "daily driver;" but as you wrote a couple of posts ago, Steve, it's hardly a one-hand device. :)
There are other approximations to the 9900, and I've mulled over grabbing a Classic while I can still find one -- but the "ol' 99" is a unique experience. I use it almost every day for one thing or another, and it's hard to think about putting it in a drawer for anything else!
CloudExplorer for OneDrive/Google Drive both work fine on my 9900. They look/work identical, but only for the respected service. I've used them to copy files back & forth w/ no problems. I even had two-factor authentication setup on my accounts. I'm just getting off work, but in the morning I can post a few screenshots if you like. :-)
As far as Podcaster goes, I loaded the latest version straight from the website & if you click on the "Purchase" link on the website you'll see this:
PodTrapper is no longer supported
Use the following key to register it: 1943BFF87134
So download the latest version from:
VersatileMonkey OTA Downloads
and enjoy! I still have to manually add the RSS feeds to the app, but it's been working fine so far. Hope that helps! Take care.

I've noticed several times when playing music via Bluetooth on my 9900 it'll stutter depending on what's going on in the background. While using headphones, I haven't had that problem. Today I picked up Baamboo Player Premium w/ a couple of Skins. Spent a couple of hours jamming & it didn't miss a beat. I'll give it a shot w/ Bluetooth tomorrow & let you know how it works. I also spent some more time using Spotify. It worked well while streaming several albums as well. I have a month to decided if I want to keep using it. ;-)
As far as TuneIn Pro goes, I usually buy it simply because I hate ads. LOL. Take care & again thanks for all the input in this thread. I've really enjoyed my 9900 since I picked it up.

I'll have to give it another shot then! Thanks for the info! :-)

Holy Man Steve that looks like the most used battery I have ever seen in my life hahaha! Mine look brand new in comparison :p
BTW I just did a wifi call in Facebook messenger with a buddy who lives in the same building as me and it was very clear BUT every 10 seconds or so a word or two of his would cut out and it was pretty annoying. I remember that issue with BBM wifi calls when I actually did try it, but not often.
Yeah I don't think I won't be buying any special battery terminal cleaner for such a minor issue but maybe my contacts are pretty clean compared to yours :p

Ah ya that does make sense. Although I will probably blow myself up when I try cleaning the contacts again with a screwdriver :p

Ya definately I would like to know about how well ANYTHING Bluetooth works with the 9900 because I seem to be having some minor issues.
TuneIn Pro, how much is PRO and is it a one time payment or like Spotify where it is $10 every month?
Thanks for contributing as well!

I could never properly get into the cartridges for my Atari 2600 contacts or the contacts inside the console. Just impossible to clean and there were so many of them. They appeared completely BLACK from what I recall but the games still played. My buddy bought it from me as he has a Massive gaming collection including 3 PONG systems from the 1970's and that Atari still works today!!!!!

Won't pass for "New, unused" ?? Lol. We definitely torture test equipment. Especially JM1s. Lol. I preach to my team about these poor things sharing pocket space with metallic items but... lol.
Interestingly, coworkers all agree that some of the roughest looking JM1s are the ones we grab from chargers on the breakroom table... the battle scars seem to indicate that they have been working. Too often, I grab a pretty looking "new" one just to have it fall on its face. Go figure.
We have a recycle jar, also in the breakroom, where misbehaving JM1s collect. Some, in that jar, are frighteningly abused. A couple are visibly bent! Fully 1/4, or more, of them look to be brand new! Lol.
Again, in the name of safety, all should keep in mind that JM1s should NOT share pocket space with keys, change, etc. !!!
As to voip, do you think the lost words might be sharing bandwidth with a large email
attachment, or something?
Hey I too use blackberry Bold 9900 since 1.5 years and its a super coll device. it looks iconic when i carry this out with the leather pouch.

Screenshots would be great if time permits but either way thanks for the information provided
I couldn't understand why there was so much interest in cleaning those battery contacts, but now I see that photo and the state of your JM1 – I get it!
Probably shouldn't be surprised, idsteve does have a proven track record for rough handling his 9900's :rotfl:
My JM1's are just as squeaky-clean as the day they arrived but I do 'handle with kid gloves' – can't hep worrying that sooner or later there will not be any JM1s left to replace a damaged battery
Whatsapp beta worked well on 9900!
I have couple of questions
1. Anyway to see desktop version of site in default browser
2. How to see gifs posted in tweets in twitter
That's the right way to abandon software! I paid the $10 for this app a few years ago, and I'm glad I supported the developer, given how the he let the app out to everyone in the end. There's an android version as well, for those who are interested. I'll have to update the entry in the "without BIS" and "working apps" threads.

Thanks for the list! Looks like I have a number of apps to add to the "working apps" thread this weekend!

Here's some screenshots for you. As you can see, it's pretty basic, but does the job. You can create directories, delete them, copy/paste files, etc. All the basic stuff works which is all that matters to me. :-)

I also worry about the cost of apps on the 9900 & the lack of support by some developers, but if it's something I know I can get use out of, I'll take the risk. LOL. Hope that helps. Take care.

I'll take some time to do more testing w/ a couple of Bluetooth speakers I have here in the office. TuneIn Radio Pro for the 9900 was $4.99 if I remember correctly. It's a one time payment. On Android/iOS it $9.99. It also allows you to save stuff to your phone/sdcard if I remember correctly. They do have a premium service which is a monthly cost, but I've never used it. Like you, if I don't have something already loaded on my sdcard or I just want to listen to something different, I'll turn on TuneIn Radio Pro. There's several stations from around here locally that I like ot listen on occasion. So it's worth it to me. Take care.

Welcome to the group! :-) I've only had my 9900's a little over a month now. Long time BB10 user but recently decided to give the 9900 a try. It's been a lot of fun seeing what I can get it to do compared to BB10/Android/iOS which I also have multiple devices of each platform. It's ironic in some cases it that BBOS 7.x outshines BB10 in several areas to me. Not that I want anyone to think I'm hating on BB10. LOL. I love all my BB10 devices as well. I even break out one of my PlayBook's on occasion. Take care.
Steve, K4SQI
BlackBerry Bridge and Remote Control will let your 9900 do some useful things with PlayBook. Fwiw. I use that combo for large screen presentations thru PB's hdmi thanks to 9900's trackpad. I also use Classic thru Miracast but 9900/PB-hdmi still works better for some things. Trackpad tames giant screens as nicely as it tames tiny screens. ;)
Haha... you should see the phone that battery came out of! Lol. Just call me the American Tourister Gorilla... lol.
Any device that can survive 5+yrs of my company's abuse must be called robust. ;)
Hmm I like that Kevin pulled out his famous white 9900 to compare to the K1 but we didn't get a "side by side" comparison like the others. I was kinda curious about the keyboard size comparing both.

No it won't pass for even "this battery went through World War II and It has been used for 70 years ";-)
Yes that may very well be, while I was on the wi-Fi call I heard faint notifications through the earpiece so I know I was getting probably Twitter notifications or something. Every time I get a Twitter notification and also goes to my email inbox. Double Whamie.
Hi All
Is there anyway to see gif's posted in twitter by friends. I love to see them but missing this feature in twitter app and browser too. Really need it
Thanks
