See this is how they take control of everything they go “think of safety” but the problem is they simply want more money out of us they want to squeeze every drop they can and that is what they’re going to do bills are going to skyrocket for everyone. When you pay almost $100 a month for your Internet in Canada you can’t take much more, and unfortunately everything the US does affects the world. Americans think it’s only about them but there’s another whole world out there affected by every twitch and moan.

As for Tumblr going bankrupt, and people not caring, well people better care, people would care if Apple went bankrupt and people said the same thing about GM until they realized how many hundreds of thousands of American jobs are dependent on GM, parts suppliers, glassmakers, Electronics and just imagine if the same thing would happen with certain massive apps. You would have a crippled American economy. (Be HAPPY that so many Canadians buy your cars because that might not happen as much if his 30% tariff goes through for us) What you deem appropriate or not, and I am on Tumblr it’s mostly good stuff lots of political blogs (like mine)and simply do not follow the people that put certain things that you might not like, problem solved. Even Facebook and Twitter and Instagram will have the occasional post of what you deem inappropriate but this does not mean you KILL an entire ecosystem/app because someone is offended. This is why you can click the REPORT button or BLOCK them and 99% of the time they take care of it. Problem is the bigger picture every time you get in to censorship you’re losing some of your freedoms and they’re telling us how to live our lives and what to do and what to buy and what to eat and what to drink and soon you’ll be so restricted you may as well just sit at home and look at the wall. That’s not freedom buddy, that’s censorship and they want the money out of your pocket which is what’s going to happen, and this is how they go about it.

This is also how they’re going to Force all of us into self driving cars, they’re going to charge massive insurance premiums for our gasoline powered cars and say that safety is the major issue, just like they did with the muscle cars back in 1971 when insurance rates skyrocketed. Just to force us and make us by is the newest latest toy. “SAFETY” is always the way they do it.

I also remember when Bush stacked the deck in the FCC with those judges and soon in movies you weren’t even allowed to show a woman with her belly button it got so bad, the censorship. I got news for you that aint freedom. It’s just more “politically correct” right now. This is why Canada has a different movie rating system than the US, and Europe has a different one from Canada. This is also why most US movies are rated PG, so that everyone can take the family to see it and they make MORE MONEY otherwise no one goes to restricted movie anymore if it has an R rating. People have gotten so sensitive about this issue I find it laughable. A movie in Canada or Europe could be rated PG but in the US it will be restricted. So they allow control in different countries for what they deem appropriate. Thank Goodness! LOL I read an article that last year, that would’ve been when Obama was still president but Trump was coming in, the US only accepted 2500 refugees from Syria. 2500! Those would’ve been the good ones like the educated ones, doctors or Business people, the ones that would pay taxes. But I have major issues with what our prime minister is doing right now we took about 300,000 of them. But remember not all refugees are from Syria many are from northern Africa and other places. Places like Germany Sweden and England won’t be too happy when they have to fight with them for jobs, so I’m with you there. That can be even more dangerous if they don’t know what they’re doing. His provoking of North Korea has entire world not liking the US right now, to put it mildly. Well Isis was officially the excuse for the refugee crisis, but personally I think many of them were economic migrants because I remember when they were safe in Hungary, they demanded To keep going to Germany where they could make €300 a month as opposed to only €50 a month in Hungary or other more poor Eastern European countries. What people wanted to kill off BlackBerry in the USA? We're competitive, but that's just business? If Canadian OEMs can beat USA OEMs that's what happens. We spent more as country on BlackBerry in BlackBerry heyday than most other countries.

As changes happen, we embrace that change and just attempt to profit from it as corporations do. We're about capitalism and free enterprise. We're anti-union because the American dream is being in charge of your own destiny and we don't want to owe someone. Our country just doesn't like social policies. Did you ever hear of lines of Americans sneaking across your border? No? We like it here. Effed up as it may be, we just like our freedom to do whatever it's that Americans want in our country.

If Canadians like their system, great!!!!! Why do I have to care what another country thinks about certain policies we have? When I go to other countries, I respect they are different and follow their culture. When living in other countries, I follow their laws and regulations.

I agree about us and our preachy politicians staying out of your business. Of course, I would like the same to be true in both directions. Some high ranking American officials have said some fairly unwelcome things about Canada in the last year too.

Personally, I hope the free trade agreement dies a quick death so we can work to become more independent of US policy and the US economy. We have an unhealthy level of dependence on the U.S. that really limits Canada's choices (and makes us care too much about what you're doing down there). I also worry that American individualism is having too much of an impact on Canadian collectivism.

I'd much prefer to let you be you and us be us.
