And yes, I know that North Korean assassins are on the way to my house. My time is up. It's been a good run.
It's a long swim, you have time to prepare.

Nearby friendly or non-combatants might be grateful for FS-FO directing with trackball/pad precision rather than touch screen precision. Lol.

You can absolutely more accurately control the airstrike with a trackball. Touch screen precision gets you the town. A trackball/pad gets you in the window of a house.

Hahahhahaha excellent defense! On another note, I believe my Bold arrives tomorrow! If not, I will send hillbilly assassins after the seller.

Legal disclaimer: I would not send assassins after the seller.

Hmm... Changing display is easy enough. Gotta get the right version # to get right replacement. On-off might indicate "simple loose connection" ... ??? Possibly just unplug-replug might "fix"??? Maybe a tiny drop of deoxit???

Could be a deeper problem so be sure price is consistent with that possibility. One of my "smart guys" transfered to be near his home town near Mumbai about a year ago... No way he'd ever sell his 9900, tho.
That guy said he get the display problem fixed and sell me for 2000 INR. Is it good deal?

Hmm... 2000inr/68usd= $29... I'd call that a very good deal, imo. Especially if it works!

It says what model it is right above the large "CE" on the white sticker but I can't quite make it out if it says 9700 or 9780.

By the way it runs on OS 6 (OS5 on the 9700)and I heard that whatsapp will not work on that anymore.

The good news is the set up is pretty much the same as the 9900 because OS6 was very similar to OS7 so I'm sure we could still help you if you had some questions ;-)

It's up to you. The 9700/9780 has a processor that is literally half as slow as the 9900's 1.2 GHz at 624 MHz if I recall. I was using mine this summer when I had a new battery installed in my 9900 and the 9780 still did everything ok BUT the browser was slow to load things like Facebook, Twitter or some general Google searches.

The keyboard on the 9780 is quite stiff and harder to press than my 9900.

The 9700 had a 3.2 MP camera and the 9780 had a 5mp but it was quite good and best of all it was autofocus. You could actually zoom in on your fingerprints and it would autofocus to perfection.

The 9700 was from 2009 and the 9780 was a 2010 model and I got my 9780 new in 2011 the month the 9900 came out (August 2011) but I insisted on a white device so I got the older 9780 that month.

The 9780 Hardware was ok BUT mine had issues with the camera module failing after 3 months and I had to get a new camera module put into it a total of 3 times. But I'm sure if the camera works still then it will be ok. I just had a lemon.

The size was nice on it. Very compact and light compared to a 9900.
