Sometimes its an issue of the USB charger/PC, I have similar issues using the 9790 with a DLINK USB hub, I thought was an issue with phone's USB or the cable, was just the crappy USB hub, after I reset the hub (power off/on) everything is fine.
I think some USB hubs/chargers have a new feature to control the data lines (of the USB) when connected with iphones/samsungs etc, so the phone device knows is connected for charging not USB data mode, something like this. That's why I got an USB isolator, has a shortcut (resistor) on the datalines so everytime I use it with the BB forces the USB input (from PC/HUB/3rd party charger) to "charge" mode.

by "HUB" do you mean the physical USB connection in this scenario? I just want to be clear here so I can understand it.

I kinda like being fully retro, with 2 phones which are years old yet working absolutely fine, and complimenting each other.
BB Bold has some flaws but looks damn gorgeous! In fact iPhone 4 and BB Bold 4 have the same metallic/stainless steel band design, and the buttons are metal as well, for both of them. Maybe that's why these horses are still working as new. But i must point out that my BB IS NEW! I bought it this month only!! The person I bought it from has a few pieces more, boxed. That was my point.. to spread the BB LOVE to all those who need it!

that new keyboard is crisp eh? I love how it feels like breaking tiny isicles with every keystroke.

While I'm stoked my USB is working, and physically now everything is finally "perfect" I noticed a couple of minor things today.

BBM in Groups only would freeze up only if I clicked one person in the notifications for the BBM group. If I clicked a notif from others in the group there were no problems. he said his BIS sometimes cuts out but how would that effect my 9900 and everyone elses??? Doesn't make much sense....

    and.....

when I click notifications, like where the birthday's are.......say notifs from FB, Twitter or email......the notifications weren't going away when you were done.

Like always with this device, I'm betting that everything will be back to normal tomorrow or after my next reboot.

Here is where you can get one (but if you get spare batteries a wall charger for the seperate battery might be more useful...

    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00KDO...UvbUpU12569597

As for the clock, click the clock icon, and hit the BB Button, there are settings under "sleep mode" and it turns the 9900 into an alarm clock if you have the Pod Desktop Charger.

You answered your own question The Frankenstein knobs on the botton are the charging contacts.

I ordered a plain white spacebar from amazon and you can also have your cake and eat it too!

Was it "Elf" or "Home Alone" when the kid asked all those questions

    Thanks for this.

Pretty sure it was Elf, when he and his "little brother" are walking home from school. Before the snowball fight scene. But there's another scene where he does that too. In the office I think.

    Does anyone bother enabling "Firewall?"

Was just reading about this feature we have, say if you are getting annoying text messages, etc you can enable Firewall to block certain types of messages. (but be sure to turn on "exceptions" and check off "Contacts" otherwise your friends won't be able to text or email you)

Man, after 9 months there is still stuff to learn on this thing.

Blackberry really did think of everything when they built this OS IMO.

Curiouser & curiouser... Now that I'm on my 9900, I can view your test here because at the bottom it says "Attachment" & I can open it. But cannot view the original pic(s) you posted. They appear as tiny black boxes no bigger than one of the 9900's keys. When I try to view one I can only "view in browser" which doesn't work because "you are not logged in". Grff

OK I already tried posting this with the 9900 but got interrupted and when I came back to it that "manager" app had closed it, so I lost what I'd already written. On my laptop now.

So I have a close friend who's going through a really, really, rough period. One of his favourite things is to go walking about the city (he loves and lives in Toronto) and sending me pics videos and texts of all the goings on as he does so. This is usually in the evening after work. It's like therapy for him. So I'm happy to help.

The problem is, he is on Wind, and using a "pre-loved" iPhone 5C, and when I'm on the 9900, he cannot send or receive any MMS with me. I have to be on my iPhone. As a matter of fact this is an ongoing problem with his phone/ plan / provider. He cannot send or receive ANY kind of multimedia with ANY phone but iPhones. Grfff.

It's been ongoing for months. And he's too chicken / too anxious/ too depressed, to do anything about it. When I was there earlier in the summer I even offered to go with him to a local Wind shop and get something happening. He was too mixed up & anxiety ridden to be able to do it. He is not a "tech person." Quite the opposite.
Anyway. Slowly slowly I'm bringing him round to the idea (but oh so slowly) that he should walk into one of those Wind shops, and demand some answers if not a fix or a refund (apparently he has tried phoning them - once, months ago - and this got nowhere).

So last night I had been texting MMSing with him, & after that I swapped SIM out and was briefly on my Bold. Today, away from home, I had both phones with me but forgot the charger for my 9900 as I rushed out the door, and was unable to find anyone that had a regular (non iPhone) charger, where I was. My iPhone meanwhile, had a full charge almost. So that's why the above.

But haha ya at least there was no water involved. Killed my first iPhone that way. 2010.

If it were me I wouldn't even hesitate, I'd say to Wind, "Fix this, or I'm gone." FWIW
