Similarly, if anyone has fitted a replacement camera unit to their 9900, please share the experience (or provide weblinks) on this forum.

I am very impressed, how well and smooth the NYTimes web page works on our 9900 stock browser! I even paid for subscription for this NYTimes online.

It is cool, that there is no ****y ads on this web, which causes that the mobile browsing is very bad and slow! Also I hate, when I have an enormous toolbar on the web page and even when I'm scrolling down it doesn't hide at all and it couses that I don't see half of the screen...

Do you have more web pages with news which works smooth with our 9900? Share!

If you want a decent news APP the only one I use is Associated Press, but don't bother with the GPS location page or trying to foreward to FB or Twitter and it's a nice interface 9900:Resurgence of popularity!-img_1471940683.563340.jpg9900:Resurgence of popularity!-img_1471940703.607235.jpg

I have a 9930 which is now used by my office staff. It was my favorite phone until BB10. I sport a Q10, Z10, Passport, Passport SE, a Z30, and looking to get a Classic. Looked at it last weekend while my wife was looking at a PRIV. It reminded me so much of my Bold. The Bold was probably my favorite phone. First BlackBerry was a Tour.

    Hello 9900 faithful!

Was looking around the used BlackBerry market to see if I can find a steal on a Passport SE or something.

Came across this ad for the 9900 http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cell-phone/ca...ationFlag=true

In my area of Calgary, Canada there are plenty of users selling their devices, what sets this guy apart is the price. $30 each for a 9900 with a battery.

For those who may need some parts such as batteries, back covers and others this appears to be a good deal.

In the event anyone in this thread is interested, let me know and I can facilitate a purchase and the buyer just pays the added shipping.

    FYI: The phones are unlocked.

Oh wow thanks this is a good deal. Love to see photos of them running of course but ya, still.

Seems seller is asking $40 if you just want one.

Still. I'm interested in one either for parts or to build upon. Even with shipping and packaging added probably still only in the $60 range which is still good.

I paid $90 for mine and I've never seen them that cheap in Saskatoon on Kijiji here. Good deal.

Yeah his ad says $40 on one section and then $30 on another, so he would have to honour the lowest price posted.

    Hey all,

Just had a quick question I wanted to pose to the users on this thread that got my thinking.

A user in the Classic forum was wondering if we will still be using our phones in 3-5 years and I thought it was possible for a few but highly unlikely for the majority of users.

Given the fact that for many people BlackBerry was "dead" as a smartphone in 2011 when the 9900 was launched (to the masses) and the resurgence that we saw on this thread.

How many users who jumped back onto the 9900 during the last few months are still clicking away? I know I am using it on my 2nd line as a email and text/call device. It seems the activity has died down a lot on this forum so I am just wondering.

Mines still going strong! Love the look of my bad boy

Unfortunately, mine is a paper weight. I really thought that since I really only use my BlackBerry for the basics, it would be fine. I managed to get my work email on it but not the contacts nor calendar. Too bad, it is exactly what I wish the Q10 and Classic should have been in the physical sense.

No one seems to be able to get the contacts to sync, if this is your issue?

If this is what doesn't work, there are still a lot of "basics" we are using on our 9900's and much more. For me, I am way beyond basics.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend no one should expect Calenders to work or sync properly on a 5 year old device because many are having this issue supposedly. Consider it a warning.

For everything I need it to do it does amazingly well.

Ursus Rufus: I didn't notice his piece that said if you buy all 10 you can have them for $30.

I am sure he's willing to discount the device to $30 if a few people are down. If you are interested regardless let me know and we can try and see if we get wiggle him down and get a picture of the phones on.

Ralph: This is the lowest price I have seen 9900 in the area. Most of the devices are going for at least $65+ with some shops charging $120 including a charger.

As time does go on more and more companies and people are ditching their legacy devices for a variety of reasons. I still love my 9900.

You mentioned contacts and calendar are an issue for some people. I know that the contacts won't transfer over from BlackBerry 10 but that wasn't an issue for me since most of mine were already there from when I used it as my primary device till 2014.

As for the calendar app not working properly, are you saying that it's not synching well with calendars like Outlook, Google and corporate email calendars? Truthfully I don't synch any calendars at all so it's not an issue I came across. Just wondering why the calendar would stop working after these years?

I've seen this before in listings based in Toronto. The seller buys in bulk from a firm or agency, and if you buy in bulk from the seller, there's a reduced price; if you want just one it's a few dollars more.

Reading this advert carefully, that seems to be the case here.

A pic of the phones running and lit up would be great.

The first 9900 that I purchased had a backlight problem which did not show in the listing. It did not show until I saw the keyboard in the semi dark. So I've had to return it to the seller and wait for a replacement for some length of time and having a friend do a lot of the legwork.

That would be the kind of concern I'd have when buying and shipping at a distance through so many people. Wouldn't want to do all kinds of back and forth again. Especially from such a distance.

    Just for clarity:

I don't know what his issue is with the contacts/mail. Maybe he can clarity. But the Syncing seems to be an issue for "some."

PS: the charger should be included free with the price of the phone, that's crazy not to imo.
