I read this thread today and it made me miss my legacy devices. I looked on swappa and was able to buy a new in the box 9930 for just $25. I will have to toy around with it.
Same thing pretty much. Bought same one for $30 at Noori on Yonge. Played around with it for a month. Gave it to my nephew. He loves it!

Sorry to hear that, my network in ireland doesn't have BIS plans either, however they told me that it's included in their bill monthly plans and i didn't believe them because all the networks are really blackberry illiterate but i ordered the sim anyway, it worked and i was so shocked and the monthly bill is so cheap too, this phone is not only amazing but halved my previous bill monthly plan haha. I think the networks stopped pre-paid BIS so maybe you will need a monthly plan or something like that? or to factory re-set the phone and try and set it up as a new phone running BIS? I would suggest backing everything up before the factory reset though.

Thank you for the info. I'm going to try the reset and see if that does anything. Fingers crossed!

Not sure if this still works but I remember back in the days of using my very very old Blackberries I was forced to use the redirector software for a bit since I wasn't hooking up to BES. Does that still work with 9900?

I can barely remember how it worked exactly but I remember using it last with an original BB Bold.

Still trying to wrap my head around if I'll be able to use the 9900 with Office 365 after August 26th. Thinking if the redirector software still works I could install it alongside Outlook and have it push my email, contacts, and calendar.

Salut la. C'tait downtown TO. A family owned place called "Noori Extension." Places like that are slowly disappearing downtown. They sell everything from snacks to umbrellas & caveat emptor electronics.

I am actually happy that mine is unlocked but originally with Rogers because I am with Rogers now so I would not care to be looking at a Telus or Sasktel logo each time I reboot or battery swap

    I really like this thread.

Everyone is positive, polite, encouraging. A welcome respite from the usual skuldrudgery in the forums. It's fascinating too because we are all here talking about a beloved classic, like some sort of weekly get together for a beloved discontinued automobile. And I was only an owner for about a month. Heh... It was enough!

    Cheers, to everyone! Pax nobiscum.

Haha. Yes. Daily. Right you are.

Was going to edit that but figured the meaning was clear.

So let us know asap about that KB. Of course you will...

Yeah, this is a great thread. Any thread that would seriously make me consider going back my 9930 is a good one...and as I look up from my work at my desk every day to see my "old friend" now resting in its charging dock serving as my desk clock...I consider it. Makes me notice how cool a device it is all over again.

    Yeah...good thread! 😊

Thanks guys. Because of this thread I've gone back to a Bold 9900. I had a Priv which my wife hijacked, a Classic that couldn't hold a T-Mobile signal and a Passport SE that a co-worker coveted until I sold it to him.

Holy crap I missed this phone. I forgot how easy it was to navigate with just a thumb.

And because of posts like yours it makes me want to get off my iPhone because I can't wait for my new keyboard replacement to come for my 9900.
