I'm still on v7.1 0.391 bundle 1310 and I have to wonder how much faster it would even be if I updated. The device came with 391 and it is reliable so I'm ok with it.
I don't recall 391, myself but if you're happy with reliability & speed as is: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it till it is..." Lol.

7.0/7.1 had genuine issues in the early days. Many, many users bailed out during that period and still expect that's how it still is. If my browser had to be refreshed every 5 seconds, I wouldn't own a 9900 either! My advice to those who still think BBOS is still the reliability nightmare it was in 2012 is to consider that it HAS been updated since! And the updates DID fix things! Just took them a while to iron 7.1 things out while resources were distracted with BB10.

That's not to say our BBOS 99's are perfect for EVERYone. Just plenty good enough for quite a few folks who value ergonomic comfort in daily use over occasional movie watching, etc.

Lols all I know is that my left handed same finger has no Dent, but it seems to fit the size of a 9900's metal bezel ^_^
Haha... I've used both hands extensively so I'd make a poor control group. Lol.

So last week I ordered a new battery for my 9900. I am not sure why I did that, I haven't used it in years but while cleaning up I noticed the old battery was swollen and back cover wouldn't fit on it. My wife thinks I'm crazy buying a new batter for an old phone sitting in the closet.. But it just felt right to me.

I've been watching old BlackBerry TV spots featuring the Bold 9900 and BBOS 7.

This is my favorite BlackBerry commercial ever. I think it captures the essence of what BlackBerry is.

And it's really making me want to use a 9900 again.

Ya one of my 9780 batteries was swollen, Ive heard of this happening. I definately wouldn't try using it or anything once that happens.

Na, you're not "crazy".....at least not until you start a thread like this to confirm it .......

No, I can't. Well I *can*, but I would have to get a different SIM that would then not be compatible with my current phones. I have a Classic. I'm happy enough with that. It's not a 9930 tho.

Yup, it runs rock solid. I cannot say the same for my 9790 that had the latest updates a few years ago and it still had issues. I'm thinking it had to be a hardware issue with the motherboard, or whatever. I would still be using that thing!!! I couldnt find ANY 9900's locally that year so that's why I signed a contract for the iphone.

Nice, "Blackberry is why we exist". ^_^

You will probably hate me for this but have you ever see the Rick Mercer parody commercials?

And after the dreaded Outage Blackberry had, they did this one.

We have to be able to laugh a little too right?

    It's only fair.

This thread has caused me to order a new sealed-in-box BlackBerry Bold 9930 (VZW) and 3 OEM charging pods for the hefty sum of $112!!!

I had 2 pods when I had my old 9930, but now I want one for work, one for bedside, and one for my home computer desk.

I just realized something. This will be the first new sealed-in-box phone I've purchased since I got my first Z30 back in Nov 2013. Every phone I've had since then (not a small number) has been used or refurbished and ranged from good to like-new condition.

I should do an unboxing video! XD

I hope that the battery it comes with will be ok because it was sealed in that box since a time when Blackberry had 23% of the Marketshare. Maybe order a spare

This thread is so.... weird.... But first - I left my 9900 when the BB10 devices started coming out - and I moved to a different platform. But - I have been still coming to this site every few days - or at least once a week - and then I would always leave the site asking why I even bothered when every thread seemed to be an argument about BB and Android and just no fun at all.

Then this thread was promoted on the front page, so I came in here - and it's like... bizarre. Everyone is nice, encouraging. Seriously this is my first post here in a few years at least!

I still have my 9900 in a box beside me. Funny enough - I loved the 9900 so much - I bought a 9981. After a while though, I went back to the 9900 because it was 'cheaper' - and I mean this in a good way. It was solid - could take a hit - and I wasn't scared to actually pull it out and use it (That's what she said) in public. So, I still have my 9900, and my pristine 9981 and I don't think I'll ever get rid of them. Some memories are worth hanging on to to show those future generations that I'm sure one day not even know what a PKB is

I'll keep and eye on this thread, it is seriously one of the only decent things out there on the Internet right now.

I just use one Nano card for one phone. I just have 1 nano from the iphone and it works great in the Blackberries but you take the Nano and click it into this Standard sized SD adapter I bought and then it fits perfectly into the Sim tray on the Blackberries.

Just one BIS plan and it is with that Nano SIM. Since it was originally for the iphone I can only assume that BIS is included in all plans here, with Rogers.

Guys, I believe if they kept making 9900/9930 they had their market share now!
because I was crazy enough 3 month ago to leave my z30 for a 9900.
I never touched BBOS7, I've never been face to face with this beauty, but it charms you... damn!
despite the fact there's more technology in BB10 devices, 9900 was a masterpiece. I can't find anything before or after 9900 to be such gorgeous. It seems like everything Blackberry has been through, has just been preparation to build 9900 in 2012!
lol you need to say this in the "Should Blackberry bring Back Legacy Devices" thread but you might be doing it at your own risk

Probably you are on a " BlackBerry plan". This strategy would not work for me anymore as I migrated to a shared family plan (on Bell). Still ,I might try it.
