I'll change out the chrome once it's starts peeling out of control... Nothing worse than a ragged-looking phone. Until then, I'm satisfied with the chrome look.
Actually it's rather surprising that RIM didn't use some sort of lightweight metal instead of plastic for the bezel. That wouldn't add too much weight and would make the whole thing studier.
If they used a metal that wouldn't interfere with signals, it'd quickly look like the back of an ipod. And we all know how that looks.
